Welcome to TABBS!

Dear Fellow Theater Arts Enthusiasts,

Welcome to an exciting new school year with the Theater Arts Boosters of Benicia Schools (TABBS)! We are thrilled to extend our warmest greetings to returning parents, new faces, and families who share our passion for the performing arts.

As we embark on this journey together, we want to express our gratitude for your continued support. TABBS plays a pivotal role in fostering creativity, collaboration, and artistic expression within our school community. Whether your student is a seasoned performer, completely new to the stage, or someone who simply appreciates the magic that happens behind the curtain, you're an integral part of what makes our program shine.

This year promises to be filled with captivating performances, a trip to a professional production, and opportunities to showcase the incredible talent that resides within all our drama students. Our dedicated team of teachers, directors, and volunteers has been hard at work planning an engaging lineup of events that will not only entertain but also inspire personal growth and self-confidence.

Here are a few highlights of what's in store for the upcoming school year:

  1. Fall Play: Get ready to witness Ms. McAdams’ debut as the new Director/ Drama Teacher at Benicia High School. We encourage all to support BHS by attending this production.

  2. Stage Fest: Throughout the year, Ms. Wright guides her Benicia Middle School Drama students to perform scenes and monologues in order to compete in Sacramento at Stagefest! Every year we are amazed to see how many awards and accolades the BMS students are able to accure.  Truly something fantastic for any student to be a part of.

  3. Community Engagement: We believe in the power of theater to bring people together. We'll be participating in various community events, providing students with the chance to share their talents with a broader audience throughout Benicia.  We are incredibly excited about our Halloween haunted house and our Dickens Carolers this year.

  4. Spring Musical: That’s right, BHS is doing a musical again this year, and we can’t wait to see it. The BHS musical is a true highlight of the year. Stay tuned for announcements about the production and auditions—it's bound to be a showstopper!

  5. Fundraising and Support: We'll organize fundraising events, such as the upcoming TABBS Loves Movies! Film Trivia Extravaganza, eat-ins, See’s Candy sales, and an end-of-year Theater in Our Schools Awards Night to celebrate our student actors. All funds go toward supporting the Theater programs and providing resources for costumes, props, sets, and theatrical experience.

We invite you to become an active participant in our vibrant theater community. There are many ways to get involved, from volunteering during performances to helping with set construction and fundraising efforts. Your contributions, big or small, make a significant impact.

Please stay connected with us through our website, social media channels, and regular email updates. We value your feedback and suggestions, so don't hesitate to share your thoughts with us.

Thank you for choosing to be a part of the Theater Arts Boosters of Benicia Schools. Let's work together to create a year filled with creativity, camaraderie, and unforgettable moments on and off the stage!

Warm Regards,

Michael R. Kasin
