Improvisation is a dangerous game. With no script and no direction, actors are cast out to make it up as they go. Responding to prompts from the audience (think “cat who books on a discount airline and is sitting next to a dog on the plane”), our experienced and creative kids create whole stories. There are two things you’ll laugh at here: the absurdity of the story, and the actors themselves alternately getting themselves into a creative story jam and then out of it again. We call it “acting without a net” and it’s exhilarating, funny, and a joy to watch the vast creativity of young minds going 100 miles an hour.
Do yourself a favor. Off the couch, in the theater,
and enjoying a light heart.
